Backup and disaster recovery

A backup nobody has tried to restore is just hope. That is why we treat backup as a separate service with three steps.

Together we decide what needs protecting, how often it is backed up, where the data is stored (including an off-site copy) and how long it is kept.

We regularly check that backups have run and can be read. We deal with failures before a backup is needed.
